Acquarium Partners was founded in 2006 by Jürgen A. Neumann and is an independent investment and consulting company based in Königswinter/Bonn. We are involved in co-investments and support the strategic and operational development of investment portfolios throughout Europe. Our focus is on medium-sized companies in growth, carve-out, succession or restructuring and reorganization situations.

With more than 20 years of experience in both the investment and management of private equity-driven companies, we form the basis and bridge to sustainable value creation of investment portfolios.

Our Team

Jürgen A. Neumann is the founder of Acquarium and has been active in the investment industry for more than 20 years.

From 2000 to 2006 he worked at Apax Partners, a leading global private equity investor, in Munich. There he accompanied a large number of investments in Germany and Europe with focus on technology and telecommunications. 

Before that, Jürgen A. Neumann worked for several years as management consultant at Siemens Management Consulting and as software developer at Siemens Public Networks in Munich.

Jürgen A. Neumann earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.

Matthias Busse has been working for Acquarium as Operational Project Manager since January 2022.
From 2019 to 2021 he worked at Deloitte in M&A consulting.

At Deloitte, he supported numerous leading German companies from the DAX and medium-sized companies in global projects. The focus was on supporting carve-out projects, from conception to execution.


Matthias Busse earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the RWTH Aachen University and a Master of Science in Management & Accounting from the WWU Münster.

Maximilian J. Pühringer has been working for Acquarium as Operational Project Manager since May 2022.
From 2019 to 2022 he worked at Monitor Deloitte in strategy and transformation consulting.

At Monitor Deloitte he supported numerous leading German companies in Germany and abroad. In addition to strategy development, the focus of his work was on the operational implementation of transformation projects.

Maximilian J. Pühringer earned a Bachelor of Science in Media Economics from the Technical University of Ilmenau and a Master of Science in International Management from the AAU Klagenfurt.

Katja Lynen has been Executive Assistant for Acquarium since December 2021. Previously, she worked in companies in various industries as Management and Project Assistant as well as in marketing.

The trained Commercial Correspondent and (Online) Marketing Manager supports the management and the team at Aquarium.

She gained her many years of experience as Assistant mainly in international companies, before taking over the marketing management in a medium-sized IT company.
